Dr Ramita Dey

Dr Ramita Dey is an experienced Consultant Interventional Radiologist who provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. Specialising in both diagnostic radiology and complex vascular interventional techniques, Dr Dey focuses on delivering accurate diagnoses and effective targeted treatments. Her patient-centred approach ensures that individuals undergoing diagnostic investigations or interventional procedures receive clear communication, reassuring guidance, and high-quality care tailored to their individual medical needs.

Dr Dey obtained her medical degree (MBBS) from Calcutta Medical College in 1994 before undertaking postgraduate surgical training in the Mersey region, gaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MRCS) in 2002. She subsequently completed specialist Radiology training through the Hull-York rotation and earned her Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2006. To further advance her clinical skills, she completed a specialist Vascular Interventional Fellowship in 2008. Dr Dey maintains active professional affiliations with key medical bodies, including the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE).

In her daily clinical practice, Dr Dey offers a wide spectrum of minimally invasive interventional procedures alongside comprehensive diagnostic imaging. Her sub-speciality expertise includes endovascular treatments such as angioplasty and stenting for peripheral arterial disease, aortic aneurysm interventions, and uterine fibroid embolisation. She also performs venous procedures including varicocele embolisation, inferior vena cava filter placement and removal, superior vena cava stenting, and interventions for dialysis fistulae. In addition to interventional treatments, she provides detailed interpretations of cross-sectional imaging, including CT scans, X-rays, vascular MRI, and diagnostic vascular ultrasound scans.
