I attended as I had a hip issue. Dr Armarnani was thorough as I had both an ultrasound and MRI to ensure we found exactly the issue and rule out any other potential problems. He was very considerate and provided good advice.

Exercise in axial spondyloarthritis: a missed opportunity in routine care

Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) is a chronic inflammatory condition predominantly affecting the axial skeleton, with characteristic features including inflammatory back pain, stiffness, fatigue and reduced quality of life.1 The condition typically manifests in early adulthood, significantly impacting patients’ physical function, occupational productivity and mental health.1 Despite advances in pharmacological management, particularly with biologic therapies, a non-pharmacological pillar of care, physical activity, remains insufficiently used.2 Further, there is no current consensus as to whether general physical activity recommendations in axSpA are any different to that of the general population.
