About Mr Rahul S Kotwal

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and specialise in all aspects of Knee surgery except revision knee replacement.

I have been a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2016 and specialise in sports related soft tissue knee injuries and total and partial knee replacements. I received the BAPIO best innovation award in 2018 for developing and performing the first day case knee replacement in South Wales. I also have a keen interest in Robotic arm assisted knee replacement and enhanced recovery following knee surgery.

I am an Honorary Clinical Teacher at Cardiff University and a member of the All Wales Orthopaedic Training Committee Panel. I am involved in training orthopaedic junior doctors and in medical student teaching. I strive towards improving patient care and outcomes. I have a keen research interest and present my work at various national and international specialist knee meetings.
