About

Mr Yassa is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Yassa's private practice is at the Oaklands Hospital in Manchester.

Having graduated in Egypt, Mr Yassa went on to undertake his MSc in Trauma and Orthopaedics, with completion in 2002. Mr Yassa has completed his Higher Orthopaedics training in Manchester rotation and went on to gain his Royal College of Surgeons of England Membership in 2008. He attained his Intercollegiate Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2018.

Mr Yassa developed a particular interest in various aspects of Knee surgery and lower limb arthroplasty, of which he completed further specialist training fellowships following his higher Orthopaedic training.

Throughout his Orthopaedic training in the North West, Mr Yassa focused on lower limb surgery. As a successful trainee with a good reputation, he was competitively selected for a Post-CCT DePuy Knee Fellowship at York Teaching Hospital NHS foundation Trust.

During his fellowship, he gained significant experience through exposure to high volume of Knee surgery including knee arthroplasty, various knee soft tissue procedures, patellofemoral stabilization procedures and knee joint preservation surgery and Paediatric knee surgery.

As part of his continuing training, he also undertook a Charnley Latta Travelling Knee Fellowship (Patello-femoral disorders) with Dr. David DeJour, Lyon, France. This has further added to his repertoire of skill set and experience.

Mr Yassa strives to deliver an exceptional service that responds to the needs of the local population. Mr Yassa puts his patient at the heart of the service he provides through a patient centered approach.

Mr Yassa has led innovation and the introduction of new services related to Trauma and Knee surgery at Manchester University NHS foundation Trust. Explanation

Mr Yassa recently treated my brother who sustained a traumatic fracture/dislocation of his hip whilst playing rugby. I met Mr Yassa both pre and post operatively on numerous occasions. Mr Yassa was kind and caring during a very stressful time. He was very understanding and considerate to the entire family who were extremely worried. He provided comprehensive explanations pre operatively and post operatively to manage our expectations. He was professional and reassuring and thanks to Mr Yassa so far the long term outcome is looking promising for an excellent recovery. I felt that he has been in very safe hands and I would have no hesitations in recommending Mr Yassa and his team.

Explanation

Mr Yassa was my consultant for a dislocated hip and acetabular wall fracture. Pre-operatively, he explained to me clearly and in understandable terms my procedure in a confident and caring manner (ORIF with anchors). Post-operatively, he was friendly and approachable, but also very knowledgeable and answered any questions that I had and extensively explained what I could expect in the recovery process. I had total confidence throughout the process in Mr Yassa.
