Dr Rae Duncan

Dr Rae Duncan is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in multi-modal cardiovascular diagnostics and non-invasive cardiac imaging. With broad expertise in evaluating complex heart conditions, Dr Duncan provides compassionate and evidence-based care for adult patients. Her clinical focus encompasses advanced echocardiography techniques and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging to thoroughly assess heart structure and function. Additionally, she has significant expertise in identifying and managing cardiovascular complications associated with post-viral conditions, offering patient-centred management plans tailored to each individual's needs.

Dr Duncan earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) alongside an Honours Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in infectious disease disciplines, including virology and immunology. She subsequently completed two postgraduate research degrees, earning a Master of Science (MSc) and a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in cardiovascular research. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), Dr Duncan holds specialist accreditations from the British Society of Echocardiography in both transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, as well as Level 3 accreditation from the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. She maintains active professional memberships with the British Society of Echocardiography and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.

In her clinical practice, Dr Duncan utilises state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging to detect, evaluate, and guide the management of diverse cardiac conditions. Her clinical interests include myocardial deformation imaging, strain imaging, stress echocardiography, and comprehensive cardiac imaging. Dr Duncan is also dedicated to clinical research and medical education, contributing to clinical trials and academic instruction.
