Dr Radu Tanasescu

Dr Radu Tanasescu is a dedicated Consultant Neurologist who specialises in neuroinflammatory conditions and general neurology. He provides individualised and comprehensive medical care for patients presenting with complex disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems. His primary areas of clinical focus include inflammatory neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease, and autoimmune encephalitis, as well as a wide spectrum of general neurological symptoms.

Dr Tanasescu completed his primary medical qualification and was awarded a PhD in Clinical Neurology by the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest. He subsequently undertook extensive specialist clinical and research training across France and the United Kingdom, focusing on advanced neurophysiology, neuroimaging, and neuroimmunology. Dedicated to raising standards in clinical practice and education, he is an active member of the European Academy of Neurology, serving on its Scientific Committee and contributing to international clinical guidelines.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Tanasescu is engaged in clinical research aimed at enhancing patient outcomes through modern diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. His research interests concern the modulation of the neuroimmune axis, the application of artificial intelligence to neuroimaging, and non-invasive neuromodulation.
