From the very beginning it was seamless. Professer Ayliffe explained every step of the process in layman’s terms from our 1st meeting right thru until the post operation meeting. Which made the whole experience very bearable. Within 3 days of having the procedure on both eyes, I had 20/20 vision, what an experience.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your positive experience, we greatly appreciate your feedback! WA and Team

I first had LASIK wave eye surgery to correct my vision approximately 20 years ago . My prescription was around -13 in both eyes and the procedure was conducted by Professor William Ayliffe at Accuvision in London . Despite being given realistic advice that due to my severe prescription I may still require glasses or contact lenses, I had driving vision the next day when I returned for my check up, following the procedure. The results changed my life, as having worn glasses and then contact lenses since the age of 9, I was now able to see normally without any assistance. Recently, I developed cataracts in both my eyes and I went back to Accuvision in London due to the above results performed over 20 years before. I was very happy to find out that Professor Ayliffe still provided his services there and that he would be the person who would be conducting the surgery. The team at Accuvision were excellent and during my consultation with Professor Ayliffe he explained all the complex issues involved in removing the cataract in my right eye and inserting a lens replacement to correct my vision, so that I would not have to start wearing glasses again . The issue was complex as the corrective eye surgery involved calculations to correct my shortsightedness ( due to my previous eye surgery and severe prescription ) whilst also leaving me with the ability to be able to read without reading glasses. Prior to the surgery Professor Ayliffe went over the procedure and the result he wanted to achieve and he was very reassuring. I knew from my previous surgery and details of his experience and work over the last 20 years that he is one of the worlds best eye surgeons and that if anyone could correct my vision it would be him. Your eyes and vision are the most important of the human senses and I felt in safe hands. Following the procedure I can now see distances both near and far without any need for glasses. This was a better result than I expected as I thought I would probably require reading glasses. Professor Ayliffe had also advised this could be the case, due to the complexity of the calculations and a degree of guesswork involved. The cataract in my left eye is nowhere near as bad as the one that I had surgery on in my right eye. Professor Ayliffe advised me that there was no need to have surgery to remove this cataract at this stage, unless i wanted this and he advised me to see how I felt and come back to see him in 12 months, unless the cataract in my left eye got worse then in the interim. It was so comforting to know that I was dealing with a professional and expert who puts the patient and the quality of his work and results first, as opposed to encouraging me to have my left eye done straight away, as some surgeons may do for their own financial reasons. A breath of fresh air to deal with someone who is at the top of his profession and from the articles I have read is pushing forward techniques for eye surgery for people around the world who are in a much worse position than me with regards to their vision. I feel lucky to have been one of his patients for 2 procedures now and i hope that he is available to conduct the surgery on my left eye when it is required. Thank you Professor William Ayliffe. Best wishes, Marcello
