About Professor Christopher Nutting
Professor Christopher Nutting is a world leader in cancer care. He is renowned for developing state-of-the-art treatments to reduce side effects and improve cure rates for head and neck cancer patients.
He is the President of the Royal Society of Medicine Oncology Section, the Chairman of the UK Proton Beam Therapy Research Strategy Group and an NIHR Senior Investigator. He is a past president of the British Oncological Association and was for many years Chairman of the National Cancer Research Institute Committee for Head and Neck Cancer Research.
Professor Nutting is particularly interested in education and research. He is a Professor of Radiotherapy at the Institute of Cancer Research (University of London) and has been a visiting professor at several American Cancer Institutes. He is highly involved in research trials and has more than 350 research publications in his field.
He graduated from the University of London in 1992 and went on to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists. He received his oncology training and Medical Doctorate from the Institute of Cancer Research (University of London).

I feel so very fortunate to be under the care of Professor Christopher Nutting. Whilst he is clearly a world leader in his field, he is so approachable and easy to talk to and was very helpful and understanding over my initial anxieties about my radioactive iodine treatment. All the subsequent follow up appointments, either face to face or on zoom, have been so efficiently arranged and his PA and everyone involved with this have been so very kind and helpful. I feel I am in very good hands and could not be more grateful for this.
Professor Chris Nutting has been my consultant for thyroid cancer since early 2013 ,when my thyroid was removed. He is caring, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very thorough and I could not have wished for a better consultant .
