Professor Margaret Johnson

Whilst there are plenty of London-based thoracic consultant physicians listed on the databases of private healthcare insurers, it can be harder than one expects to be able to pin one down for an appointment in an emergency as they do part-days across various clinics/hospitals. In my moment of need I was so relieved that Professor Margaret Johnson does some evening appointments. I was able to see her at 7pm - same day - in St Johns Wood at the St John St Elizabeth Hospital. For what it's worth I also liked the set-up at this hospital. Calm professional, friendly staff in reception, CT Scan and pharmacy. Everything all on one site and 2 minutes walk from the tube station. I felt well listened to, with my questions answered, and thoroughly tested in response to my symptoms. The acuteness of my problem was quickly resolved by Professor Johnson and she also knew how much time to allow before a re-check which led to an all clear a couple of months later.

Professor Johnson is kind, patient, attentive and sympathetic in her manner and approach. She was thorough, taking a multi-pronged approach to her diagnosis which allowed for a swift prognosis and prompt relief of symptoms. Her reassuring manner was very much appreciated and allayed concerns.

Professor Johnson has been explaining the possible cause of my severe cough in simple non technical terms and with great patience. Consequently I was made aware of my problems and possible method of cure. she gave me confidence and encourage. I firmly believe that she is one of the top clinical consultants within the British NHS.

Professor Johnson has a very calm manner which puts you at your ease. she does not rush the consultation and makes complicated medical jargon easier to understand. My wife and i would be happy to recommend her expertise to friends and family.

This was an initial consultation and unfortunately the records required to make the session as complete as possible had not arrived but Prof Johnson was very friendly and direct and gave a good explanation of why she was asking her questions. I suspect that the next meeting will be more productive once all the data is available but she was reassuring in her preliminary prognosis.

Professor Johnson is a fantastic doctor and I would recommend her to anyone!
