About Mr Krishna Menon
Mr Krishna Menon is a Consultant Liver Transplant and Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgeon who was appointed to King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in January 2013. Previously, he was a Consultant Surgeon from January 2002 to December 2012 at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust with a specialist interest in transplantation and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery. Over the years as a Consultant at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and currently at King's he has helped develop techniques in liver transplantation and HPB. He has pioneered laparoscopic techniques in HPB surgery and performed laparoscopic liver and pancreatic resections (distal pancreatectomies, pancreatic head resections and left lateral liver resections/major hepatectomy/non-anatomical resections).
He specialises in liver transplants and has particular expertise in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for the liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
Mr Menon's research interests have been primarily related to pancreatic and liver cancer. He has published pioneering articles on resection margins in pancreatic cancer and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours. He is also well published in transplantation and HPB surgery.

Prof Menon is always running late for the appointments. In addition, he did not examine me in any way - the last time I was in one of the wounds from the surgery was causing me issues. I expected him to review it this time. This appointment could just have been online or by email saving me the four hour round trip journey.

Professor Menon saved my life with the operation undertaken in 2023, and continues to look after me with regular follow-up care. Always the total professional consultant. I value his time and attention.
Prof Menon spent time to understand how I felt, was accurate and caring about my diagnosis and managed a team of three other surgeons for the removal of my chambers. It was a great success.
