Professor Guy Lloyd

Professor Guy Lloyd is a Consultant Cardiologist, Honorary Professorr at Queen Mary University and the Clinical Director of Cardiac Imaging at the Barts Health NHS Trust. Guy has over two decades of experience in cardiac imaging and the treatment and management of cardiac conditions such as heart valve disease.

Prof Lloyd earned his Bachelor's qualification in medicine at the Guy's and St Thomas Medical School, University of London, where he also undertook his basic and specialist cardiology training. He was then appointed Consultant in 2002 in Sussex and moved to St Bartholomew's Hospital in 2015 where he established the Echo Lab, the largest heart lab in the UK. He is now the Clincial Director of cardiac diagnostics at Barts and alongside runs a program of research into echocardiography and heart valve disease.

Prof Lloyd was also the previous President of the British Society of Echocardiography and has chaired the Imaging Council of the British Cardiovascular Society. He is the immediate past  Hon Secretary of the British Cardiovascular society. Prof Lloyd is also well known for the research he has published in many high profile medical journals, and is a regular invited speaker at national and international conferences.

Guy undertakes private practice in London at the Cleveland Clinic London where he is lead for Echocadiography.  In Sussex he sees patient and undertakes a variety of echo procesures at Eastbourne District General Hospital
