Professor Barry Monk

Professor Barry Monk is a Consultant Dermatologist with more than 32 years of experience. He covers all aspects of skin diseases and general dermatology for both adults and children. This includes acne, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, moles and skin cancer.

He qualified in Medicine in 1975 from the University of Cambridge and Westminster Medical School. He then undertook his dermatology training at the Royal Free Hospital and King's College Hospital in London. He was first appointed as Consultant Dermatologist in 1987 at Bedford Hospital until 2012 when he decided to work part-time. He currently provides private consultations at Manor Hospital, Saxon Clinic and the Three Shires Hospital, and also a visiting dermatology clinic in Gibraltar.

Professor Monk has written more than 60 articles and is the co-author of 6 textbooks. He was also known to be the former President of the Section of Dermatology of the Royal Society of Medicine.
