Dr Priya Kumar

Dr Priya Kumar is a highly skilled Consultant Paediatrician dedicated to delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and child-centred healthcare for infants, children, and young people up to the age of 18. Taking a holistic approach to child health, she evaluates the physical, developmental, and emotional well-being of young patients, recognising the vital interplay between physical symptoms and psychological health. Dr Kumar works collaboratively alongside multidisciplinary colleagues—including specialists in paediatric cardiology, allergy, dermatology, dietetics, and psychology—to ensure seamless, tailored care for every child.

Dr Kumar completed her specialist postgraduate medical training in paediatrics and qualified as a Consultant Paediatrician in 2010. She holds professional membership with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Throughout her career, she has held significant clinical leadership roles, including serving as a Divisional Clinical Director in Paediatrics, and contributes to medical education as a clinical examiner for national postgraduate paediatric examinations.

With broad expertise across general paediatrics, Dr Kumar has designated clinical interests in paediatric diabetes, growth and pubertal disorders, allergic conditions, and paediatric dermatology. She provides thorough assessment and management for young patients presenting with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, insulin pump technologies, growth delays, early or delayed puberty, eczema, asthma, and respiratory concerns such as noisy breathing and stridor. Dr Kumar is passionate about empowering children and their families through clear guidance, supporting young people to manage their health confidently at every stage of growth.
