I am a highly experienced Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with
over 12 years as a consultant, I have been a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon for
over 12 years and specialise in treating patients with bowel, hernia, and
pelvic floor conditions. My patients come to me with a wide range of concerns –
from constipation, prolapse and recurrent haemorrhoids to complex abdominal
wall problems and bowel cancer.

I trained at Oxford and Newcastle Universities, was
awarded a PhD in Medical Education, and then gained specialist
fellowship training at Basingstoke Hospital – the world-leading centre
for advanced bowel and abdominal cancer surgery. Since then, I’ve gone on to
set up the robotic colorectal surgery service in York, which is now one
of the most successful in the UK.

• A founding member of the York Abdominal Wall Unit, recognised internationally

I have published research and presented my work around the
world, an am an advisor to national health bodies and societies but just as
importantly, I am passionate about giving my patients the very best care. I use
the latest keyhole and robotic techniques whenever possible, meaning
smaller scars, quicker recovery, and less pain after surgery.
