Dr Sven Plein

Dr Sven Plein is an accomplished Consultant Cardiologist who specialises in adult cardiology and advanced cardiovascular imaging. He is recognised internationally for his expertise in non-invasive cardiac diagnostics, with a primary clinical focus on cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging and echocardiography. His clinical practice encompasses the comprehensive evaluation and management of various heart conditions, including ischaemic heart disease, heart failure, cardiometabolic disease, and cardiovascular complications associated with diabetes mellitus and chronic inflammatory disorders.

Dr Plein completed his medical training at the Philipps University of Marburg in Germany, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1995. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Medicine from the University of Leeds in 2004. Dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, Dr Plein is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and holds active memberships with prominent professional organisations, including the European Society of Cardiology, the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging, the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, the British Cardiovascular Society, and the British Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
