Dr Paula Scullin

Dr Paula Scullin is a dedicated Consultant Medical Oncologist who provides compassionate, comprehensive care to individuals facing a cancer diagnosis. Recognised for her empathetic and patient-centred approach, Dr Scullin ensures that patients and their families are fully informed and supported at every stage of their treatment journey. Working closely alongside multi-disciplinary healthcare teams, she delivers individually tailored treatment plans grounded in the latest clinical evidence and best practice standards.

In her clinical work, Dr Scullin specialises in thoracic oncology, with a major focus on the medical management of lung cancer, as well as clinical interests in breast cancer and acute oncology services. Her expertise covers the safe prescription and administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT), including modern chemotherapy and targeted drug regimens. She also plays a key role in managing acute treatment-related complications, ensuring prompt and effective clinical support whenever urgent symptoms arise.

Dr Scullin earned her primary medical degree (MB BCh BAO) before completing post-graduate training to achieve Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Her academic background is supported by a prestigious Healthcare Leadership Doctoral Fellowship as well as a GenerationQ Fellowship with The Health Foundation. In addition to her clinical practice, she holds professional leadership responsibilities, including serving as Chair of a regional Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Clinical Reference Group.

Beyond direct clinical care, Dr Scullin is deeply committed to advancing patient safety and service innovation. She has spearheaded regional initiatives to standardise chemotherapy prescribing protocols, integrate electronic healthcare systems, and pioneer digital symptom-monitoring tools that allow patients to report therapy side effects in real time.
