Dr Paul Scully

Dr Paul Scully is an accomplished Consultant Cardiologist dedicated to delivering high-quality, comprehensive cardiovascular care. With a reassuring, patient-centred approach, Dr Scully combines expertise in general cardiovascular medicine with advanced diagnostic techniques to ensure patients receive precise diagnoses and tailored treatment plans.

His specialist clinical interests encompass nuclear cardiology, cardiac computed tomography (CT), transthoracic echocardiography, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Dr Scully has particular expertise in managing heart failure and cardiac amyloidosis, especially within the context of aortic stenosis. By utilising state-of-the-art cardiac imaging modalities, he evaluates heart structure and blood flow to guide both medical therapies and interventional strategies effectively.

Dr Scully graduated with distinction from Newcastle University in 2009, having previously completed a Master’s degree in Medical and Molecular Biosciences with distinction in 2008. He attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2012 and earned a PhD in Cardiology from University College London in 2021 for his research into cardiac amyloidosis. He was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training in Cardiology in 2022. In addition to holding specialist accreditations in cardiac CT and nuclear cardiology, Dr Scully serves as Secretary of the British Nuclear Cardiology Society and is active in medical education and research.
