Dr Paul McCormack

Dr Paul McCormack is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb disorders, with a primary focus on shoulder and elbow surgery. He provides compassionate, patient-centred care aimed at restoring mobility, relieving pain, and helping individuals return to their daily routines. Dr McCormack manages a comprehensive range of elective and traumatic orthopaedic conditions, utilising both conservative non-surgical management and advanced operative techniques to achieve optimal outcomes.

His clinical focus encompasses complex shoulder and elbow surgery, including joint replacement procedures and minimally invasive arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery. Dr McCormack frequently treats rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, joint arthritis, stiffness, and upper limb trauma. He is particularly committed to modern care pathways, such as day-case joint surgery, which allow suitable patients to recover comfortably in their own home environment while receiving dedicated follow-up care.

Dr McCormack graduated in medicine (MB BCh BAO) from Queen's University Belfast in 2009. He completed his core surgical and higher orthopaedic training across Northern Ireland and Yorkshire, receiving his Certificate of Completion of Training in 2021. To further refine his sub-specialist skills, he completed two prestigious fellowships in upper limb, shoulder, and elbow surgery. He holds Fellowships with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd Tr+Orth) and is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS). Additionally, he holds active professional memberships with the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, the British Orthopaedic Association, and the British Medical Association.
