Mr David Dickson was polite, he was clear and precise with his information/explanation of the treatment required. Overall he was very professional.

Advice and medical explanations given with thought to the layman yet not patronising . Positives and realistic appraisal and negatives of operation explained. Consultant after care communications realistic about operative recovery and empathy shown on a personal level to circumstances of patient and reaching the best positive outcome that can be. Mr Dickson is a very kind, caring, empathetic Consultant who actually listens to his patients. He has performed five operations on my hand and wrist due to complications of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Each time he has explained exactly what he was going to do in a very understandable way and the choices I could make if needed. His aftercare is excellent too ensuring that any post op issues were sorted out immediately. He is very down to earth whilst maintaining his professionalism and has made me laugh when I haven’t wanted to! I’d say he is the most approachable Consultant that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and I would highly recommend him.

The whole system at the Yorkshire Clinic ran smoothly, efficiently and everyone was very friendly. No charge is made for parking and there was plenty of space. I arrived early for my appointment expecting to wait for my allotted time but David Dickson called me through virtually immediately. His explanation was beautifully clear which included sketches and notes highlighting the pros and cons of each way forward. I then went through to x-ray and was called straightaway. Thorough instructions about how and where to position my hands by understanding friendly staff. I then made my way back to see David who discussed my X-rays with me and I left the hospital feeling fully informed and very well cared for.

I have been under the care of Mr Dickson for some time now, having had ongoing problems with my wrist due to RA. The disease has caused multiple issues. I am due to have surgery again in October. Mr Dickson fully explained the operation to me, showing me X-rays, photographs and exactly what the procedure entailed. He answered all my concerns and questions in a very down to earth manner, in a way that I totally understood and I came away from my consultation with him feeling very optimistic for a positive result.

Mr Dickson performed carpal tunnel release surgery on me. From my appointment right through to surgery he was professional and caring. He had great rapport with me and this further put me at ease. Everything was explained to me in detail but in a manner that I could understand which enabled me to make informed choices.
