About Mr David Dickson

Mr David Dickson is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in hand and wrist surgery. He practises privately at The Yorkshire Clinic and holds an NHS consultant appointment at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Dickson manages the full spectrum of hand and wrist conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, peripheral nerve entrapment, Dupuytren's disease, trigger finger, De Quervain's tenosynovitis, ganglion cysts, rheumatoid arthritis, thumb and hand arthritis, fractures of the hand, fingers and wrist, scaphoid injuries, wrist ligament injuries and degenerative wrist arthritis. He has particular expertise in wrist arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery, motion-preserving procedures and complex reconstructive surgery.

Mr Dickson studied medicine at the University of Nottingham before completing basic surgical training in Yorkshire. He undertook specialist orthopaedic training within the Yorkshire Deanery, gaining extensive experience across a number of major hospitals. Following completion of his specialist training, he completed advanced fellowships at Wrightington Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth and Royal Orthopaedic Hospitals in Birmingham, where he developed expertise in hand and wrist reconstruction, nerve surgery, wrist arthroscopy, joint replacement and complex hand trauma. He began consultant practice in 2016 and successfully completed the British Society for Surgery of the Hand Diploma in Hand Surgery.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Dickson is actively involved in teaching and training. He has authored book chapters on hand and wrist conditions, teaches on specialist surgical courses and supports the education of orthopaedic trainees and general practitioners. He is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
