Dr Pasquale Gallo

Dr Pasquale Gallo is a dedicated Consultant Neurosurgeon specialising in Paediatric Neurosurgery. Focused on providing high-quality, compassionate surgical care to young patients, he leads advanced clinical initiatives designed to treat complex conditions affecting the brain, skull, and spine. Dr Gallo is widely recognised for establishing specialised surgical services that allow children to receive pioneering neurosurgical interventions locally, delivering reassuring and family-centred care throughout every stage of assessment, surgical treatment, and long-term recovery.

Dr Gallo completed his medical education and specialist residency in Neurosurgery at the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata Verona in Italy. He subsequently undertook higher fellowship training in Paediatric Neurosurgery at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Lyon in France. Demonstrating a strong commitment to medical humanities and clinical ethics, he also completed postgraduate qualifications in Global Bioethics. Alongside his full-time clinical duties, Dr Gallo serves as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, actively contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education as well as clinical research. He holds professional memberships with leading specialist organisations, including the British Paediatric Neurosurgery Group, and contributes to the academic community as an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Neurosurgery and an editorial board member for Child's Nervous System.

With extensive expertise spanning cranial, spinal, and neurovascular procedures, Dr Gallo manages a comprehensive range of paediatric neurosurgical conditions. His primary areas of clinical focus include the neuroendoscopic management of hydrocephalus, surgical treatment of Chiari malformation and syringomyelia, complex craniofacial surgery, craniosynostosis, spinal dysraphisms such as tethered cord, and posterior fossa and spinal cord tumours. Furthermore, he has pioneered specialised brain revascularisation programmes, performing advanced procedures such as pial synangiosis bypass for children with Moyamoya disease. Working within a multidisciplinary team, Dr Gallo maintains a patient-focused approach that prioritises open communication and emotional support for children and their families.
