Dr Parvathy Pillay

Dr Parvathy Pillay is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist. She has worked in the NHS as a General Adult Consultant since 2011, and offers private treatment as a visiting consultant at Priory Hospital Chelmsford.

Dr Pillay holds a membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and has achieved her CCT in General Adult Psychiatry and Rehabilitation. She completed her core and specialist training in Psychiatry with University College London. She also has an MSc in Transcultural Psychiatry from Barts & The London Queen Mary’s School of Medicine & Dentistry.

Dr Pillay is also interested in research and innovative treatments in Psychiatry, particularly in the area of neuromodulatory treatments such as rTMS and VNS. She is currently the Principal Investigator for PAX BD, an NIHR funded phase III trial, and is conducting an ongoing feasibility study in collaboration with ARU school of medicine to explore the use of rTMS in a pan diagnostic group of patients to reduce symptoms.
