About Dr Omar Shareef

Mr Omar Shareef is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with clinical interests in general urology, kidney stone disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and diagnostic urology. He provides assessment and treatment for a range of urological conditions, including bladder symptoms and prostate disorders, and performs diagnostic procedures such as cystoscopy and prostate biopsy. He is also one of a few urologist in the region who routinely runs paediatric urology clinics and theatres.

He completed his specialist urological training and subsequently worked in various posts across the North West of England before being appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon. His specialist interests include pelvic oncology (both bladder and prostate) in addition to endourology and the management of kidney stone disease, alongside minimally invasive treatments for benign prostatic enlargement.

In addition to his private practice, he works as an NHS consultant at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, providing both elective and general urological care. He serves as the cancer and educational lead for his department.

Doctor Shareef explained to me that following previous surgery on my pelvic area what was happening to me was typical The doctor was very thorough and the student nurse with him carried out two bladder scans and he then prescribed some tablets to try for 28 days then re scan. Both consultant and nurse were very helpful and most pleasant Thank you

Dr Shareef is a very competent and caring professional. He puts his patients at their ease. He takes time to answer their questions, and to make sure that they understand everything, including any risks or drawbacks of any procedure. He gives clear advice, but puts the patient first, so that they can make the decision. He does not try to rush the patient, but lets them take their time.
