Dr Noureen Afzal

Dr Noureen Afzal is a highly dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in providing comprehensive care for infants, children, and young people. Practising within the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom, she is committed to delivering high-quality acute and general paediatric services. Dr Afzal is known for her reassuring and patient-centred approach, ensuring that young patients and their families feel supported throughout their healthcare journey.

With a strong focus on acute paediatric medicine, Dr Afzal possesses extensive expertise in managing a wide range of childhood conditions. She has a particular clinical interest in paediatric diabetes, having completed specialised training in this field. Her work includes the management of type 1 diabetes in children and young people, including advanced insulin therapies. Additionally, she has a keen interest in neonatology, specifically the stabilisation of unwell newborns, neonatal screening, and the management of neonatal jaundice and associated infections.

Dr Afzal obtained her primary medical qualification, the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), in Pakistan, where she also completed her initial postgraduate training in paediatrics.
