Dr Nicola Erb

Dr Nicola Erb is an experienced Consultant Rheumatologist who specialises in the diagnosis and long-term management of complex musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. Serving as a Consultant Rheumatologist and Deputy Clinical Director, Dr Erb provides comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to the individual needs of her patients. She maintains a strong clinical focus on systemic lupus erythematosus, connective tissue diseases, and inflammatory joint disorders, supporting individuals through their care journey with expert guidance.

Dr Erb completed her undergraduate medical education, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), as well as a Bachelor of Science (BSc). She subsequently achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Demonstrating a strong commitment to professional development and clinical leadership within her field, she holds membership with the Royal College of Physicians and has served in prominent regional leadership roles, including as Secretary for the Midlands Rheumatology Society.

Her wide-ranging clinical interest encompasses a broad spectrum of rheumatological conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis during patient transition into adult care. Dr Erb is heavily involved in the clinical administration and monitoring of advanced treatments, such as biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs, alongside therapies for osteoporosis, soft tissue rheumatism, and vasculitis.

Dedicated to delivering holistic care, Dr Erb collaborates closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams, including Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists. She actively participates in clinical audits and research to maintain high standards of patient safety and treatment quality, ensuring patients receive modern, evidence-based care focused on restoring mobility and overall wellbeing.
