Dr Masood Ashraf

Dr Masood Ashraf is a highly regarded Consultant Physician specialising in Endocrinology and Diabetes. He provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of hormonal, metabolic, and endocrine conditions. Dr Ashraf is dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, with a particular focus on obesity and weight management, thyroid disorders, and complex diabetes management. His clinical approach combines evidence-based medicine with a compassionate, reassuring manner, ensuring that each patient receives a tailored treatment plan designed to optimise their health and well-being.

With extensive expertise across the spectrum of endocrinology, Dr Ashraf manages diverse conditions affecting the thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands, as well as calcium and bone metabolism. His clinical interests include reproductive endocrinology, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and male hypogonadism, alongside antenatal endocrinology, where he supports women with gestational diabetes and thyroid disorders during pregnancy. In the field of diabetes, he is highly skilled in utilising modern technology, including insulin pumps, to manage both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, while also addressing diabetic complications and lipid disorders.

Dr Ashraf completed his specialist training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and General Internal Medicine within the prestigious Oxford deanery training programme. He holds an MBBS and obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2013. He went on to complete his Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) in Endocrinology and Diabetes in 2018, and achieved his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2020. In 2024, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP). Committed to medical education, he serves as a College Tutor for internal medicine trainees and has active research interests, particularly in obesity and diabetes. Dr Ashraf is an active member of several professional organisations, including the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO), the UK Association for the Study of Obesity (ASO), and the British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS).
