About Ms Lavanya Buddha
Ms Buddha is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist who has been practicing at BMI Goring Hall Hospital since 2012. She treats a variety of conditions such as recurrent miscarriage, heavy menstrual bleeding, vulval skin conditions, polycystic ovaries, chronic pelvic pain, prolapse and post-menopausal bleeding. She has also developed an interest in gynaecological cancer and is part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ms Buddha graduated from University of Health Sciences with First Class Honours as Rajya Lakshmi Scholar in 1996, one of India's oldest and most prestigious medical schools. During her studies, she was awarded the PLK state-wide Gold Medal in Pathological Sciences (biochemical analysis of bloods and examination of specimen samples) and VKS state-wide Gold Medal in General Surgery.
Following specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in various high risk units (including university hospitals) all over the UK, she received her MRCOG post graduate degree in 2004.
Ms Buddha obtained the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2009 having completed advanced training skills modules in Gynaecological ultrasound, early pregnancy, emergency gynaecology and vaginal surgery.
Ms Buddha was appointed a consultancy position in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Worthing Hospital (Western Sussex NHS Trust) in 2010 as the early pregnancy lead - overseeing early pregnancy and gynaecology ultrasound training.
Ms Buddha offers 30-minute consultation time for all new referrals and 15-minute consultation time for follow-up appointments.
Ms Buddha has a track-record of low intervention rates and ensures her clinical decision making is in accordance with latest NICE and RCOG guidance.
