Ms Alison Lane

Alison Lane is a Clinical Psychologist with a passion for helping people by working through their problems. She listens without judgement and with empathy to create a relationship with patients and clients which allows them to work together to find a solution to the problems they are experiencing. She qualified in 1992 and then undertook specialist training in pain management, sexual health, chronic fatigue syndrome and neuropsychology.

She is able to manage psychological challenges that come from physical health problems, but also offer support where issues are purely psychological. She deals with anxiety disorders, low mood and depression, low self-esteem, trauma, pain management, sexual functioning, relationship problems and compulsive sexual behaviour.

Ms Lane uses a range of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and mindfulness-based approaches. Experience with a range of therapy models means she can tailor her approach according to the individual. She believes that through helping people make sense of their difficulties so they can work towards valued and meaningful changes.
