    About

Mr Sachin Malde, Consultant Urological Surgeon, currently works at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital, London. He also works at several private practices around London. He has a wealth of experience in the management of urological problems – bladder disease, urinary symptoms, prostate enlargement, blood in the urine, and chronic UTIs. He is also a specialist in both male and female urinary problems, bladder cancer and neuro-urology.

He began his medical education at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Medical Schools in London in which he graduated with a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery. He then went on to complete his postgraduate research degree MD(res) examining post-prostatectomy incontinence at University College London. Following this, he started his Higher Specialty Training in Urology on the well-respected South Thames rotation. Afterwards, he undertook a fellowship at University College London.

He is currently on the panel of the European Association of Urology Guideline Panel for benign prostate enlargement and is an expert on the minimally-invasive surgery that can be performed for this condition. This type of surgery can preserve sexual function. He is also one of the only UK surgeons that can perform minimally invasive procedures for tibial nerve and sacral nerve stimulation for bladder issues. He also has oncological interests, especially in the management of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer and can perform blue-light cystoscopy to enable better diagnosis and treatment of these cancers. He also regularly performs outpatient laser treatments for bladder tumours.

Mr Malde has a keen interest in research with a strong publication history in peer-reviewed journals. He has also been invited to speak at several conferences around the world to share his findings. He continues to contribute to medical education by being a tutor and examiner on several accredited national courses. He is also currently a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Having suffered from a chronic condition for many years and received very limited and often discourteous help from NHS GPs and NHS hospital consultants, meeting Mr Malde was like escaping into the sunshine after being confined in a dark, dank cellar. Mr Malde has helped me enormously and I am confident that I will be able to make a full and complete recovery in time. Mr Malde is what all physicians should be like, and once were, but now rarely are. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

At the ripe age of 30 and in my first trimester it was discovered that I had early-stage bladder cancer. Mr Malde was fantastic throughout the entire process from the cystoscopy to surgery (TURBT) and post-op tests. I was able to see him at short notice and he responded to my endless emails and questions. I can't say nice enough things about him.

After suffering with UTIs for 50 years with increasing severity, I was despairing of ever being truly well again. Within minutes of meeting him, I was convinced he could help me. Kind, understanding, approachable, thoroughly professional and knowledgeable, he was always available during my treatment for reassurance. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I will be forever grateful to Sachin for giving me my life back!

It was clear when I first met Mr Malde that he was professional, friendly and understood my concerns immediately. He knew the subject matter could be embarrassing and was sensitive to my concerns. He was efficient, very responsive (including responding to my emails on non-workdays when I had concerns), inquisitive (asked lots of questions to try to understand the problem, a quality which in my experience is unfortunately lacking in a number of other health professionals) and provided me with clear, succinct advice. He acted in a professional manner in all instances, including initial consultation, pre-operation briefing, operation and aftercare. I am very satisfied with Mr Malde's service and would highly recommend him.
