About Mr Jwalant Mehta
Mr Mehta is a full time spine surgeon. His practice included adult and children. He has completed 2 spinal fellowships in Bristol and Columbia, Missouri. His practice includes scoliosis surgery, growing spine surgery, correction of kyphosis, correction of adult spinal deformities, surgery for degenerative spinal conditions including decompression sand fusions. He also deals with spinal problems in sports persons, including elite athletes, cricketers and footballers.
His research spectrum includes publications in peer-reviewed journals, invited chapters, editorial commitments for high impact factor journals, serving as an expert on the National Research Ethics Committee as an expert, serving on steering committees of the Scoliosis Research Society (www.srs.org), and is actively involved with several research projects through the Paediatric Spine Study Group, European Spine Study Group, International Spine Study Group and the Department of Biomechanics at the University of Toledo, Ohio, USA.
His NHS base is the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital where he also serves as the Paediatric Safeguarding Lead. He also works at the Birmingham Childrens Hospital. His private practices are based at BMI The Priory Hospital, Spire Parkway Hospital and the Bromsgrove Private Clinic each with weekly clinics.

Very disorganised support team didn't have my MRI results at time of appointment despite these having been sent over in advance with confirmation they had been accessed before the date. The assessment was in my opinion por didn't ast long, very rushed and didnt even ask me to remove my jumper for spine visibilty. The additionalscan appointments didn't come through within the expected timelines and the secretary was unhelpful. The report letter I received following consultation made reference to the wrong limb. I had lost all faith by this point and decided confidence was no longer there and sought an alternative specialist. I asked the secretary to ensure any pending appointments were cancelled which did not happen and I received an appointment for the wrong scan,had to call again. This was the worst and most disorganised private healthcare experience I have ever and would certainly not recommend.

The care was brilliant and answered all my questions in understandable way.
Doctor Mehta listened to every bit patiently i had shared about the current state of health I was in. Then followed an structured approach for further diagnosis based on scans. As a patient, it felt being taken care with utmost compassion.
Really helpful and knowledgeable as well as understanding and just an amazing doctor, Gemma his secretary also goes above and beyond

I am just recovered from my second spinal fusion surgery with Mr Mehta. On both occasions he has been at pains to ensure I had a full understanding of what I was about to go through. I didn’t at any time feel pushed to follow any one particular option. I was helped to understand the benefits and possible risks of each. My rapid recovery from this complex and extensive surgery is testament to Mr Mehta’s skill and experience as a spinal surgeon. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who has spinal issues and is seeking a resolution to their pain.
