Mr Joseph Manjaly has a reassuring, kind, clear, and patient manner with patients. Feedback highlights significant resolution of hearing loss and other ear conditions, leading to improved quality of life.
We wanted to convey our story to perhaps give other people hope that are maybe in the same position as we were. Around 24 months ago our Son was involved in an incident that resulted in a serious head injury, requiring urgent care. He, thankfully recovered in almost all aspects apart from his hearing. He was 21 years of age and a serving member of the British Army. He was as a result of the incident left without hearing in one ear and medically downgraded. The situation was looking highly likely that would it would not allow him to continue his service in the forces. He was treated initially under the NHS, and in fairness to the surgeon who attempted the operation tried his best to rectify the problem. He, in a post operation consultation stated that he wasn’t confident attempting the procedure. At this point Mr Joseph Manjaly was recommended to us as a person in conjunction with ONE Welbeck that could potentially help us. From the first moment that we met Joseph we were treated with not only unapparelled medical professionalism but also a level of compassionate care that made us feel that this is 100% the man we trust to operate on our son. At every stage, there was honesty, complete clarity and a clear explanation of what was going to happen. The connection and investment that Joseph had with our family was without doubt first class. He made us feel so relaxed in the knowledge that he would do everything he could to achieve success, and he did. We are so thankful we found someone of Joseph's Skill, compassion, professional excellence that we feel is unmatched. As a family...
Read moreAt the age of 80, I decided it was time to reclaim my life and improve my social connections, which had been deeply affected by my worsening hearing over the years. After trying various hearing aids without much success, I chose to have two cochlear implants implanted. This decision marked a significant turning point for me. One of the standout aspects of this experience was the support I received from Joseph. He was not only friendly and compassionate but also very professional and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain everything clearly and making me feel comfortable throughout the process. The implants themselves have made a noticeable difference, helping me engage more easily in conversations and reconnect with friends and family. Overall, getting cochlear implants was one of the best choices I’ve made for my quality of life. For anyone facing similar hearing challenges, especially if traditional aids haven’t helped, I would warmly recommend exploring this option. With the right guidance and care, it truly can open up a whole new world of sound and connection. I can now hear things that I haven't for years. Nature and bird song was the thing I missed the most along with my grandchildren's voices when talking on the phone. I can now socialize with my family and friends in an inclusive way that I haven't been able to for years.
We had an exceptional experience with this doctor when my son needed treatment for a middle ear infection. From the moment we arrived, he showed a level of calmness, kindness and reassurance that immediately put both my son and us at ease. The procedure itself — which involved careful suctioning — was handled with remarkable skill and gentleness. What stood out most was his ability to connect with my son, explaining things in a simple, reassuring way and maintaining such a calm, composed manner throughout. It made what could have been a stressful experience feel completely manageable. The level of care, empathy and professionalism was truly outstanding. As a parent, you notice these things — and this was care delivered at the very highest standard. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to any family. An excellent clinician with an exceptional bedside manner.
From the very first meeting with Dr. Joe Manjaly when we were introduced, he examined me and carefully listened to the story of my trauma. all the way through the surgery itself and the post-operative follow-ups, I have been profoundly impressed by his professionalism and, even more importantly, by his humanity. I am a patient who went through a severe quad bike accident. In addition to the middle ear trauma and hearing loss, I suffered multiple other injuries. The recovery process has been long, exhausting, and emotionally draining. Among everything I was dealing with, the hearing loss was one of the most distressing parts of my trauma. I sincerely hoped Dr. Manjaly would be able to help me and from our very first consultation, he inspired complete confidence and trust in me. I knew I wanted him to perform my surgery. He answered every single one of my questions with patience and clarity. I had constant access to him by email and phone, and whenever I needed to see him in person, an appointment was arranged. That level of availability and care meant more to me than I can express. On the day of the surgery, I felt calm and certain in my decision. My ossicles were damaged and required reconstruction with a titanium prosthesis to replace the non-functioning bones. During the procedure, Dr. Manjaly was truly brilliant highly skilled, focused, and incredibly supportive. The entire team he worked with, including the anesthesiologist and nurses, were exceptional. What touched me deeply was that after the surgery, he stayed until the very last moment to make sure I felt comple...
Read moreI recently had stapes surgery with Mr Manjaly, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience or the outcome. My results were excellent, even better than we had expected in terms of the level of hearing improvement, and the difference has been life-changing. From the beginning, Mr Manjaly was very reassuring. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions in detail, and made sure I fully understood the procedure, the risks, and what to expect. Throughout the process, I felt confident that I was in very capable hands. His calm, thorough approach made a big difference to me. Because of how positive this experience has been, I’ve decided to return to have my other ear treated in a few months. I would highly recommend Mr Manjaly to anyone considering this surgery.
I recently had ear surgery with Mr Joseph Manjaly and I’m extremely pleased with the experience and results. From the first consultation, he was professional, clear, and reassuring, taking the time to answer all my questions. The procedure went smoothly, my recovery was easier than expected, and the improvement has been life changing. I truly appreciate his skill, care, and dedication, and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking treatment for any ear-related issue.
I had a number of consultations and eventually underwent tympanoplasty surgery. This was a particularly delicate situation since I work as a musician and preserving my hearing was critical. Mr Manjaly was very understanding of my situation and made sure all the risks were fully considered before moving forwards with the surgery. My low frequency hearing loss was restored following the operation and the risk of infection now that the hole in my ear drum is fixed is significantly lower, so the ideal outcome was achieved. I wouldn't hesitate to see Mr Manjaly again in future if necessary and would highly recommend him to others.
Firstly Mr Manjaly empathy and the time given, and how compassionate he was about my situation was outstanding He gave clear instruction and didn’t go into things to confuse me, as he took me through each stage carefully, which really helped, the outcome ideas he gave were really realistic. Working through all of these we could then work out that the Osia device was a good option. Communication for surgery was quick and consise, he came himself to see me and explained things clearly and took on how I was feeling. After over half a century being totally deaf in one ear, isolated, depression what Mr Manjaly has been able to do for me has changed my life and I had nothing but excellent treatment.
Dr Joseph Manjaly is an excellent ENT surgeon. The stitching behind my ear was done with great precision and care, leaving little to no visible scarring. Throughout the entire process he was very reassuring and always took the time to answer my questions whenever I needed help or clarification. The surgery itself went very well, and he did an outstanding job. My hearing improved significantly after the operation, and I genuinely feel he helped me a lot. I’m very grateful for his skill, patience, and support and would highly recommend him.
I was provided the best care possible. Every aspect of it was efficient, friendly and professional. I cannot think of a single improvement that could be made in the whole experience from initial consultation, operation and after care. Joe is super friendly and responsive and you know that you are in the hands of an absolute expert.
Great ENT consultant, especially in the otology world for hearing implantable devices. Recommended

More than 40% of people over 50 have some degree of hearing loss. It is now recognised as the biggest modifiable risk factor for developing dementia. Yet it often remains undiagnosed, and it’s been estimated that people wait an average of 10 years before seeking a referral. Many people still have the misconception that hearing loss only affects the elderly and is just part of ageing 🤯 The good news is wearable hearing tech is going to be much more normalised in the next generation, and that will hopefully reduce anxiety and stigma around making hearing loss visible.
