Mr Joseph Manjaly is a Consultant Otologist, ENT and Auditory Implant Surgeon, appointed at the Royal National ENT Hospital in central London. He specialises in ear/hearing problems for adults and children and regularly receives referrals from other ENT specialists for advanced care of these conditions.
Whilst Mr Manjaly is fully qualified to treat all types of ENT problems, by choosing to focus solely on ear and hearing surgery he is able to offer specialist assessment and treatment options beyond what is typically available in a standard ENT clinic. His internationally-renowned fellowship training now means that he can offer advanced surgical skills and a full range of hearing rehabilitation options for all types of hearing loss. He also enjoys being able to provide accurate and effective treatment for people with ear discharge, discomfort, tinnitus and dizziness. He also manages problems relating to children's tonsils and adenoids in his regular paediatric clinic.
Mr Manjaly has a very busy tertiary NHS practice at the renowned Royal National ENT Hospital, part of University College London Hospitals. He also provides visiting specialist input to the Microtia & Craniofacial Multidisciplinary team at the Royal Free Hospital, London. His training was on the North Thames ENT High Surgical Training programme, undergoing extensive training in all aspects of ENT surgery at a number of centres, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust, London North West University NHS Trust, and the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital.
After being awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons he began to specialise in the area of hearing restoration for adults and children. He was then selected for a prestigious fellowship in Otology and Implant surgery at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, where he was able to expand his skills in complex ear and hearing surgery. He has held several positions within the Association of Otolaryngologists in Training including acting as a representative on the councils of the British Society of Otology and the Royal Society of Medicine Otology Section.
Away from the clinic, he is a keen Aston Villa supporter and also performs semi-professionally in a function band at weddings and conferences in the UK.

I was immensely grateful for the treatment I received from Dr. Manjaly! Having had a build up of wax in my ear over a number of months, and using olive oil to lossen it, the wax had accumulated to the point where I had stopped hearing, which was quite distressing. Dr. Manjaly was extremely reassuring, cool under pressure and effective in his treatment. He used a microsuction device to remove the wax, and after a thorough and careful procedure my ears were completely unblocked. Other than Joe's exceptional professionalism and quality of care, I think his attention to detail and desire to make his patients comfortable and reassured were most impressive!
My 6 year old daughter was referred to the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital to investigate hearing loss due to glue ear. She saw Mr Manjaly, who was always delightful in clinic and made her feel very at ease. He recommended grommets and explained the procedure and benefits of this very thoroughly. We were extremely happy with all the care we received. The grommets surgery went really well and my daughter was discharged within a few hours. The surgery was a great success in improving her hearing and we’re really grateful to Mr Manjaly for all his expert advice and for the exemplary care he showed.
Just a few lines to congratulate and thank you for your solution to sort out my ongoing and prolonged liquid discharge [rpblem in my ear, with the application of some Tri-adcortyl. I am most impressed with your skilfull consultation and thank you for your kind attention. With the compliments of the season.
Dear Mr Manjaly, just a few lines to wish you and all the staff that were involved in my recent surgery all the best in the holiday season. I would like to thank you once again for your expertise and kindness shown to me during my visits. The success of the operation has made a huge difference to my life. I can hear and communicate with my friends and family without missing any of the conversations. Also in the great love of my life running, I can now have and contribute to the banter that sustains us on our long Sunday runs. Once mire my most heartfelt thanks for what you have done for me.
