Mr Alistair Jepson is a highly trained and skilled consultant orthopaedic surgeon working in Northamptonshire. As a specialist in upper limb surgery, he provides professional and personalised surgical care for shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist conditions.
He is extensively trained in shoulder arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) for rotator cuff tendon repairs and stabilisations for instability, as well as treatment for frozen shoulder and shoulder replacement. However, as an upper limb specialist, he offers a full range of treatments affecting the entire upper body, from collar bone to fingertip. This includes the treatment of carpal tunnel, trigger fingers, thumb arthritis, Dupuytrens contacture, and ulnar nerve compresion. Furthermore, he is an expert in the treatment of sports injuries. In fact, he regularly treats local professional sportsmen and women from the fields of rugby, football and cricket.
His work is dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes for patients in both the public and private health sectors. His confident diagnostic skills are matched by his surgical expertise and meticulous explanations at every step of any procedure. Private patients can access his first-class care at the Three Shires Hospital in Northampton and the Ramsay Woodland Hospital in Kettering.
Training:
Mr Jepson graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1994. After this, he trained in and around London, with his orthopaedic specialist training taking place within the North West Thames region. He was awarded specialist accreditation in 2004 and then pursued his interest in upper limb surgery with two fellowships: the first being an upper limb fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia (one of the largest and busiest upper limb units in the country) and the second being a hand fellowship back in the UK at the Pulvertaft Hand Unit in Derby.

Mr Jepson operated on my shoulder 7 months ago through my private insurance. I had a Rotator Cuff injury. The surgery was done at The Woodlands Hospital, Kettering. Mr Jepson was very clear about what needed to be done and how long the recovery would be. On the day if the surgery i found the whole team to be very professional and caring. The hospital itself was spotless, spacious and comfortable. I felt in safe hands. The surgery went to plan. I chose to have a General Anesthetic. My follow up appointments with the Physiotherapist and with Mr Jepson were very positive. My full recovery could take a year but I am making good progress. My arm is already so much better than it was before the surgery so definitely worth it. Physio was excellent, very targeted and he told me Mr Jepson had done a lot to my shoulder. I can highly recommend Mr Jepson, I think he is a very clever man. I would like to thank him again for his attention, along with his whole team.
Mr Jepson was a breath of fresh air, he was professional in his work and told me what would be the best course of my treatment at my age. Couldn’t have asked for anything better, brilliant.
All of my appointments and surgery with Mr Jepson have been exemplary. From my first appointment through to my final appointment, I have received the upmost care. Mr Jepson is professional and very approachable, he explained my treatment plan and at all times ensured my understanding. I felt very comfortable and reassured at all times. If I had to have treatment again in this field, Mr Jepson would be my choice of surgeon.

Wow! Thank you so much of that review.
The procedure was fully explained and carried out on the date agreed. I was very happy with the way in which I was treated whilst in the hospital and also happy with the outcome.
I couldn't fault the service. Got a great result on my condition. No issues what so ever.
Excellent from start to finish, very clear and informative. Overall outcome Excellent.
I attended sessions with Mr Alistair Jepson for carpal tunnel syndrome. He was very welcoming and put me at ease. After the initial examination we discussed the available options and course of action. He took the time to ensure I understood the options and any possible effects. We had a clear plan which we both agreed upon and took the next step which was a scan and injection. Following that we agreed on the operation. All staff at the hospital and Mr Jepson were excellent they took the time to ensure I was clear on the stages and comfortable. The operation itself was very quick and painless. Recovery has been as expected and follow up sessions the same. Excellent service and the scar is neat and tidy.
Everything was clearly explained in terms I could understand Very professional
I have no hesitation in warmly endorsing Alistair’s skill and experience to anyone seeking help with their shoulder. I have experienced first-hand his high professionalism, understanding, and skill, and regularly recommend him to colleagues, friends, and family.
