About Dr Nicholas Barnes

Dr Nicholas Barnes is a Consultant Paediatrician specialising in general paediatrics, paediatric cardiology and neonatal medicine. He is based in Northampton and currently practises at Northampton General Hospital and King Edward Road Surgery.

He completed his medical degree in 1995 at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London. He began his specialty training in Paediatrics in 1996 where he trained at several London hospitals including the world renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Royal Brompton Hospital. He later trained in Oxford, further developing his expertise in paediatric intensive care, cardiology and neonatal medicine.

In his current practices, Dr Barnes treats children and newborns with a wide range of conditions, including:

Dr Barnes has published several papers in peer reviewed journals on subjects in the areas of both paediatric cardiology and neonatal medicine.
