Mr Mohammad Ali Omar

Mr Mohammad Ali Omar is a Consultant Urological Surgeon in London with over 20 years of senior clinical experience, including more than a decade as an NHS Consultant. In his clinical practice, he focuses on careful assessment, clear communication, and practical decision-making, creating an environment where patients feel comfortable discussing sensitive urological concerns and confident asking questions.

Mr Omar was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2013, initially working at Whittington Hospital NHS Trust in London before moving to Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals within Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. During this time, he contributed to the development of female urology and urodynamics services, enhanced recovery pathways, and community-based urology clinics aimed at improving access to care and reducing unnecessary hospital visits. Since December 2020, he has worked across multiple sites including Hillingdon Hospital, Mount Vernon Hospital, and Charing Cross Hospital in London. He is an active member of the uro-oncology multidisciplinary team, collaborating with specialists in radiology, oncology, pathology, and nursing to manage patients with suspected or confirmed urological cancers.

He treats a broad range of urological conditions, including lower urinary tract symptoms, benign prostatic enlargement, kidney stones, prostate and bladder cancer, female urology and bladder dysfunction, interstitial cystitis, neurological bladder disorders, recurrent urinary tract infections, and paediatric conditions such as undescended testes. He also performs procedures such as urodynamic testing and microsurgical vasectomy reversal. His approach is firmly evidence-based, tailoring treatment plans to each individual while discussing both conservative and surgical options, along with their benefits and risks.

Alongside his clinical work, he has held a range of governance and educational roles, including audit lead, mortality review lead, clinical and educational supervisor, and trained appraiser. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has previously served as a final-year medical examiner at University College London. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at urology conferences, ensuring he remains up to date with developments in the field.
