Mr Wilson began his surgical training in Nottingham before completing two years of advanced training in complex endovascular surgery in Newcastle, UK, and Adelaide, Australia. He also holds a Doctorate in Vascular Pathology, with research that has been published by leading organisations including the American Heart Association, the New York Academy of Science, the European Society of Vascular Surgery, and the British Journal of Surgery.
His clinical expertise covers the full range of vascular surgery. He has extensive experience in aortic aneurysm surgery and endovascular aneurysm repair, stroke prevention and carotid surgery, and the management of peripheral vascular disease with angioplasty and bypass procedures. He also provides a wide variety of treatments for varicose veins, including surgery, radiofrequency ablation, laser therapy, and sclerotherapy.

Mr Wilson was very clear from the start, I felt at ease from the first consultation right through to the surgery. Mr Wilson and his team were exceptional in the service they all provided. The surgery was a great success and has left me with a very neat scar which will fade over time I highly recommend the Winfield hospital on all levels.
During my consultation Mr Richard Wilson was very welcoming knowledgeable professional. He listened to my health issues before asking relating questions. We discussing various options including ny potential risks before agreeing with a surgery procedure . The day of my surgery and recovery the staff were polite professional and very understanding throughout. I am very pleased with my post operation outcome. I would without question fully recommend Mr Richard Wilson to anyone with vascular health related issues.

Mr Wilson did my hernia repair on 26th February and I had a follow up appointment today. The operation was a complete success and apart from some post operative discomfort, my quality of life has quickly been restored to that prior to the start of my serious hernia problem which was about 18 months ago. My very grateful thanks to Mr Wilson and all of the excellent staff at the Winfield Hospital.
