Mr Timothy Blackburn

Mr Tim Blackburn is a board registered specialist in Facial Surgery and Consultant Maxillofacial & Facial Plastic Surgeon, appointed as honorary consultant at The Christie, Honorary tutor for Manchester Medical School and a member of several specialised interdisciplinary teams at the University teaching hospital in central Manchester including Head & Neck cancer / reconstruction; specialist skin cancer; facial neuromuscular rehabilitation; orbital & skull base surgery. He subspecialises in cosmetic & reconstructive facial plastic surgery with an accumulated experience of over 3000 operations in facial plastic surgery.

Mr Blackburn graduated with 4 distinctions from King's College London, training in London & Liverpool and winning the Intercollegiate Gold Medal in the FRCS exit examination. He has also undertaken fellowships in head & neck surgery in Manchester and in Plastic, ENT and Maxillo-Facial surgery & observerships in Milan, Glasgow, Toronto, Chicago and Germany. Mr Blackburn was then appointed a Consultant in the Manchester Royal Infirmary Department of Maxillo-Facial & Facial Plastic Surgery in 2008.

Mr Blackburn continues his commitment outside his clinical work as the elected secretary-general to the International Academy of Oral and Facial Rehabilitation, as a peer-reviewer for the International Journal and by serving as an Intercollegiate Specialty Exit Examination by invitation. Mr Blackburn also has many peer reviewed publications, international presentations including key-note lectures and is active in research in facial plastic surgery. He applies his subspecialist skills to his cosmetic facial plastic surgery including liposculpture, laser treatment, botulinum toxin, fillers, custom implants & mini-facelift under local anaesthesia with sedation.
