About Mr Kenneth McAlister
Mr Ken McAlister is a highly experienced Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with specialist expertise in the surgical and non-surgical management of conditions affecting the face, mouth, and jaws.
He began his medical career studying Dentistry in Glasgow before going on to obtain his medical degree (MB ChB) from the University of Glasgow in 1999. Following his basic surgical training in the West of Scotland, Mr McAlister completed specialist Maxillofacial training in the Trent region, developing a particular interest in head and neck cancer surgery and reconstructive techniques.
Mr McAlister holds NHS consultant positions at both Royal Blackburn Hospital and Royal Bolton Hospital, with a clinical focus on skin cancer of the head and neck. He serves as Clinical Lead for Skin Cancer at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and for the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance.
His clinical interests include skin cancer surgery, mole assessment, cosmetic facial and nasal surgery, facial deformity correction, salivary gland surgery, oral cancer screening, and non-surgical facial rejuvenation using dermal fillers.
Mr McAlister is a member of several professional bodies, including the British Medical Association and the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

My initial consultation regarding a neck lift was excellent. Mr McAlister(Ken) gave clear expectations and all procedures available were discussed in a relaxed, friendly manner, with no pressure. My operation at Beardwood Hospital went well. All staff during my stay were excellent. My recovery at five weeks is well underway with great results visible. My facial scaring is nearly invisible due to Kens amazing attention to detail whilst stitching the area in front of my ears. Follow up appointments have been very reassuring with excellent advice given to further aid recovery. I am so happy that I chose Ken as my surgeon and I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Very quick diagnosis and a no nonsense approach made this as painless a procedure as it could be.
