About Mr Steve Garnett
Mr Steve Garnett is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a long track record of innovation and leading improvements for urology patients. He became the cancer lead for East Sussex Urology in 2009 and has been the Clinical Lead for urology in East Sussex since 2012. In 2015, he performed the first Da Vinci Robotic prostatectomy in Sussex. He also introduced Green Light Laser Surgery into East Sussex and the UroLift Procedure and MRI fusion biopsies.
Mr Garnett undertook his training originally in London (St Bartholomew's Hospital) and went on to specialist training in Bristol, Edinburgh and Oxford. He was appointed Consultant Urologist in Eastbourne and Hastings in 2008. He has written both the East Sussex prostate cancer patient pathway and also the East Sussex lower urinary tract symptom pathway. He undertook research into bladder dysfunction and offers consultations to general urology patients and uro-oncology patients.

Dr. Garnett outstanding he’s approach to helping me with my condition. He listens to what I had to say and explained what was happening before he offered an examination, he was extremely thorough very professional and very caring. And then took the opportunity to explain what he thought was going on and that to help with this diagnosis I would need a new ultrasound of the area, this was carried out extremely quickly and I was referred back to Dr Garnet for the outcome. I can’t thank you enough for his support and help and he made me understand the situation very clearly and what he had diagnosed was 100% correct so I couldn’t have been happier. Thank you to Dr Garnett and his team for reassuring me and giving me the confidence that everything would be okay and I can move forward.
Experience was very good and Mr Garnett was friendly, clear, assuring. My disappointment was that there seems no way to improve my condition. I am still of the opinion that if I was prescribed some relaxant medicine it might help but gp’s are not keen to try that.

The whole experience has been excellent.The level of care I have received has been faultless.The time and care given to me by everyone throughout my appointments at Benenden was thoughtful, considerate, reassuring and to a very high standard.I am also very impressed by how quickly appointments are offered and managed.
