Mr Weitzel completed his primary medical degree at the Medical School of the Albert-Ludwigs University in Germany. After qualifying he completed his specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in London and Norwich. He then undertook further postgraduate fellowships and placements at prestigious orthopaedic surgery centres in the UK, including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. Here he found his passion for foot and ankle surgery.
Since then Mr Weitzel has become one of the most experienced foot and ankle specialists in the NHS.

I’ve been extremely pleased with both the outcome of my operation to remove a large ganglion cyst from my ankle and the recovery process afterwards. From the outset, Mr Weitzel’s calm, transparent and professional manner made me feel I was in very safe hands. Naturally I was nervous before the procedure, but Mr Weitzel took the time to talk me through every scenario clearly and provided the reassurance and confidence I needed ahead of the operation. The recovery has been much quicker than I expected, and I’m very happy with both the appearance of the scar and how well it has healed. It’s clear the operation was carried out with great precision and care. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Weitzel to others considering similar treatment
Everything explained clearly to me and I was made to feel at ease about the procedure to be undertaken.
Everything was fine. The surgeon was welcoming. He demonstrated some exercises for me to do. The knee is healing well.

Generally a good experience. It was unfortunate that Mr Weitzel's clinic was running late and he had some technical issues. That aside he was very thorough in his assessment of my progress post surgery. Hopefully the healing process will continue to go well. If I have any concerns I will not hesitate to contact Mr Weitzel for a further consultation.
Everything from my initial consultation to my last one went very smoothly and pleasantly. The operation itself must have gone well as I have recovered well and quickly - and lots of people have commented on this.
Mr Weitzel was pleasant, calm and reassuring quelling any nerves I may have had. The surgery went well and my recovery was just fine.
I was very impressed with the overall process from consultation to surgery was very quick and Mr Weitzal explained everything making me feel relaxed and confident for the surgery. It was nice hearing him speak on a matter he is obviously an expert in and I felt in safe hands
I was seen swiftly, a scan was arranged (the same day!) and I had my diagnosis within 5 days - amazing!
