Mr Simon Prowse

Mr Prowse is a consultant Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon who provides specialist care for the whole bredth of adult and paediatric ENT conditions. As well as his broad expereince he has a special interest in diseases of the ear, hearing and balance. He practices both within the NHS and in the private sector.

Following an honours degree in pharmacology and undergraduate medical training at the Welsh College of Medicine in Cardiff, he has undertaken subspecialist ENT training at centres of excellence across the UK and abroad, including the Yorkshire Hearing Implant Centre and the Causse Clinic in Beziers France. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and a member of the British Society of Otology. Mr Prowse has trained in the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques including laser and endoscope assisted minimally invasive ear surgery and hearing restoration surgery.

Mr Prowse has been awarded four clinical excellence awards by the local Wye Valley NHS Trust in recognition of his innovation and contributions to enhancing patient care and is the clinical lead for ENT Surgery at the County Hospital in Hereford. He has a special interest in training young surgeons and has held honorary tutor roles at the Universities of Leeds and Birmingham and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in medical education.
