About Mr Shailesh Agrawal
Shailesh Agrawal has over 25 years of experience in Ear,
Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgery; 15 years at Consultant level within the NHS and
Private sector. Towards the end of his official training he focused further on
Ear, Hearing and Imbalance issues, visiting overseas experts in Antwerp and Copenhagen, and then with an additional fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons
and more experience in surgery in Manchester.
He is able to offer consultations for private patients both
insured and self funding at Oaklands Hospital in Salford and Highfield Hospital
in Rochdale. His clinical interests span all areas of ENT, including nasal
blockage, polyps, rhinitis, sinusitis, sore throats, tonsillitis. He has
extensive experience in seeing patients with ongoing problems with unexplained
ear pain, ear ache, ear discharge, dizziness, tinnitus and hearing loss. He is
skilled in ear related advanced procedures such as mastoid surgery, stapedotomy,
and bone anchored hearing aids for hearing loss.
He otherwise works as an NHS Consultant within the Northern
Care Alliance covering Bury, Rochdale, Oldham and Salford areas. He has extensive
experience in hospital management and has served as Clinical Director of the
ENT department for several years before working in is current role of Divisional
Director of Surgery within the trust. These have been key roles involving
development of services and ensuring high standards of care are delivered. In
addition to his clinical and managerial practice, he contributes to research where
possible, and maintain an interest in education. He is an Honorary Clinical Senior
Lecturer at Edge Hill University and has been providing an annual training
course for approaching 20 years supporting ENT doctors in training in the North-West
area.
Known for his friendly and relaxed manner, Shailesh ensures
consultations are thorough; giving patients time to describe and then
understand their own problems. He is patient focused and ensures everything is
explained is easily understandable words and language. All patients receive
copies of the same letters posted to their GP's.

I had an appointment with Mr Agrawal this morning and was extremely pleased with the care I received. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel listened to, understood and reassured. He was warm, kind and very professional throughout the consultation. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything clearly and patiently, which really helped ease my anxiety and gave me confidence in the treatment plan. I particularly appreciated how compassionate and understanding he was during the appointment. He also performed the Epley manoeuvre for my BPPV and I can already tell it is starting to help, which is such a relief. I left feeling much more hopeful and supported. I am very grateful for the excellent care and would highly recommend him to anyone needing ENT treatment.
Fantastic experience having a tonsillectomy by Mr Agrawal. Communication was great throughout and my recovery has been smooth.
We can’t recommend Mr Agrawal highly enough, the care we received was outstanding. Our 18 year old son had almost all of one of his eardrums missing. Mr Agrawal took time to explain the options and the likelihood of success for the proposed operation. We were particularly impressed with how he explained the risks to an 18 year old who wasn’t entirely paying attention the whole time. Mr Agrawal was very thorough and we never felt rushed at any point. The procedure has been a complete success and that’s now unlocked a career path for our son which wouldn’t have been available otherwise. We are eternally grateful for the care we’ve received from Mr Agrawal.
I visited clinic this morning, and was seen by Mr Agrawal. He was very thorough in explaining to me what was going to happen next now I have my diagnosis.
