Professor Saurabh Jain

Prof. Saurabh Jainis a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and University College London Hospitals. He is also an Associate Professor at UCL Medical school and lead for year 2.

In his private practice, Mr. Jain primarily operates at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, The London Clinic and the Hospital of St Johns and St Elizabeths.  With a vast experience in eye surgery, he specialises in paediatric ophthalmology, squints, general ophthalmology, and cataract surgery.

At the Royal Free Hospital, Prof. Jain leads the adult strabismus and botulinum toxin service, providing expert care to patients. He also conducts cataract surgery and outreach clinics at Barnet and Whittington hospitals. Additionally, he actively participates in clinical work, trains junior surgeons and allied clinical professionals, conducts research, and contributes to educational activities as the college tutor.

Prof. Jain commenced his ophthalmology career at Kings College Hospital, London, followed by specialist registrar training at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. He pursued further advanced training as a fellow in adult strabismus surgery and completed specialist training in paediatric ophthalmology at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.

As an esteemed member of the ophthalmic community, Prof. Jain holds active memberships in various professional organisations, including the European Strabismology Association where he serves as an elected Council member. He is also affiliated with the American Association of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, teh Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the International Strabismological Association.

Prof. Jain's commitment to excellence is evident through his regular attendance at professional meetings and his role as a member of the Skills faculty at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, where he imparts knowledge to trainee surgeons through microsurgical skills courses.
