I am a highly experienced general surgeon with specialist expertise in gastroenterology and hepatology, currently practising at The London Clinic. With a distinguished career spanning several decades, I am recognised for my skills in the management of complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions and rare tumours.
I completed a BSc in Anthropology at University College London before qualifying MB BS from the University of London in 1986 and later earned an MD from the University of London for his research thesis in cell biology. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and completed two fellowships in Surgical Oncology, at The Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and the second at The National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo. My trainaing in laparoscopic surgery bagan in Bordeaux and was refined in London.
I have held senior roles at leading Hospitals in London, including St George’s Hospital and The Royal Marsden Hospital, where he served as Medical Director for Private Care and nationally as chair the Hepatobiliary section of the London Cancer Alliance, later Cancer Vanguard.
My main clinical interests include pancreas and biliary cancers, gallbladder disease, oesophageal and stomach cancers, as well as benign procedures such as gallbladder removal, hernia surgery, and reflux treatment. I have an interst in rare tumours such as GIST and other soft tissue sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumours of the Gastrointestinal tract. Most of my operative work is now minimal access and robot assisted and I am trained on the Da Vinci system and the Shorui Single port system.
I am actively involved in research in cancer immunology, committed to improving early diagnosis and outcomes, and contributing to national initiatives in pancreatic cancer awareness.

It's very reassuring to have Mr Mudan as my primary healthcare provider. Mr Mudan's analytical approach to my complex health needs, combined with his obvious deep knowledge, acquired over many years of practice and doubtless thousands of surgeries, meant that when the time came for abdominal surgery, I knew I was in safe hands.... Mr Mudan also takes the time to explain complex health issues and his recommended treatment in everyday terms... I am certain that patient understanding helps with the healing process in and of itself
Sats is highly experienced in surgical and non-surgical management of cholangio carcinoma as well as other aspects of benign and malignant HPB. We have worked closely together for many years, and I would recommend him thoroughly including to members of my own family
