Mr Richard Freeman is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery, with particular expertise in minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques. His practice covers a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including bunions, arthritis, deformities, sports injuries and complex trauma.
Following his medical training in London, Mr Freeman undertook orthopaedic training in the South East before completing specialist fellowships in foot and ankle surgery and trauma. His foot and ankle fellowship provided advanced training in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery and involved treating elite athletes, including Premiership football and rugby players and Olympic athletes. He subsequently developed further experience in complex lower-limb trauma through a fellowship at a Major Trauma Centre.
Minimally invasive surgery is a particular focus of Mr Freeman's work, and he uses keyhole techniques across a broad range of foot and ankle procedures, including bunion and deformity correction, fusion surgery and arthroscopy. His expertise in these techniques has also led to teaching and lecturing roles in the UK and internationally.

Mr Freeman was really helpful and gave good advice about rehab and recovery.
Me Freeman was pleasant and helpful in explaining my upcoming g surgery. He gave concise informatics instruction on post surgery recovery & what to expect and generally alleviate concerns.
Mr. Freeman was very clear about what he thought the problem was although he said he needed to see the scan results first. I felt very confident with his psychosis and wish I’d seen him three years ago when I had a foot operation on the other foot! Looking forward to seeing him for my follow-up and I know I’ll be in good hands
Mr Freeman was very friendly and very clear and concise with his explanation of what to expect during my procedure
Very good. The reason for only 4 out of 5 is that 15 minutes can be a bit short for the appointment. I come away thinking of things that I didn’t ask.

Many thanks for your kind review and helpful feedback. We are always happy for patients to contact us after a consultation if they have any queries (office@richardfreeman.co.uk), and we will do our best to answer these for you.
Mr Freeman is an excellent consultant. Incredible knowledge, kind and courteous. He operated on my ankle and even in a short time, it’s made a significant improvement in my quality of life. Highly recommend Mr Freeman.
Having trained alongside Mr Freeman, I know him to be an exceptionally skilled and dedicated surgeon. He is professional, approachable and deeply committed to achieving the best outcomes for his patients, whilst providing compassionate and reassuring care. A highly valued colleague whom I would recommend without hesitation.
