Mr Patrick O'Brien

Mr Patrick O'Brien is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. He is President of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Royal Society of Medicine. A media spokesperson for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, he has been a council member since 2014 and sat on a wide range of committees and working parties at the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and Department of Health.

Mr O'Brien has held the position of Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at the Portland Hospital and Chair of the Women's Health Division of HCA in the UK. He is also a patron of the charity SafeHands for Mothers, which works to promote women's health in low-income countries.

Mr O'Brien lectures both nationally and internationally and acts as an ad hoc medical advisor for various television programmes and films.

Mr O'Brien qualified as a Doctor in Ireland and undertook postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London.
