Mr Michael Ellard

Mr. Michael Ellard is a Consultant Gynaecologist with over two decades of experience in the field of gynaecology, including the treatment of subfertility, endometriosis, menopause, and heavy periods. He sees private patients at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital.

Mr. Ellard earned his primary medical qualification at Queen's University, Belfast, after which he came to England to train in IVF at the Royal United Hospital. He gained experience in subfertility management and also set up the egg donation service at the hospital. He then moved on to complete his advanced training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Mersey, and upon completion, was appointed Consultant at the Wirral University Teaching Hospitals.

Since his appointment, Mr. Ellard has aided the Trust in setting up a fertility and satellite IVF service alongside the Liverpool Hewitt Centre. He centers his practice around holistic care and aims to ensure his patients understand all the options made available to them. He prioritises a minimally invasive approach for the management of gynaecological conditions, such as fibroid removal and hysterectomy. He is also the lead for Women's services at the trust and is the Director of the Training programme for the North West of England.
