I live in Chandlers Ford with my wife and three daughters, so I have based my private practice at the Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital although I also see patients at the Spire Southampton Hospital.
My NHS practice is at University Hospital Southampton.
In addition to my clinical work I am medical director of the Wessex Cancer Alliance, working across both Hampshire and the Isle of WIght and Dorset with a remit to improve cancer services and treatment outcomes for our population.
Diseases, Medical Tests and Treatments
I have a broad experience in all aspects of general urology for men and women including conditions affecting the kidney, bladder, prostate, penis and testicles.
In the NHS I have developed a regional referral practice in complex pelvic and abdominal (particularly retroperitoneal) cancer surgery, having been a consultant in UK practice since 2002. I work closely with colleagues from my own and other specialties to ensure that patients with complex problems are treated by the most appropriate person with the most relevant expertise.
I undertake nephrectomy for advanced renal cancer, including vascular and IVC invasion, and lymphadenectomy where indicated.
I lead a regional service providing surgery including retro-peritoneal lymph node dissection for men with testicular cancer.
I have a medico-legal practice providing expert witness and personal injury services.
Having had a broad surgical experience I provide second opinions where patients who would like another perspective on their condition, or who are struggling to understand the decision making, require it.

I was until 2021 Regional Specialty Adviser (South Central) for the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) at the Royal College of Surgeons.
I am a previous member of BAUS Council.
I am a team member of the Royal College of Surgeons Invited Review Mechanism, providing expert opinion and independent advice when a healthcare organisation requires it.
I am a member of the BMA and the MDU, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I trained in Wessex, Bristol and at the Royal Marsden Hospital prior to consultant appointment in Southampton in 2002.
