Mr Mahesh Kumar

Mr Mahesh Kumar is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Hillingdon and Northwick Park and Ealing hospitals and is Honorary Consultant in head and neck surgery at the Ealing and Charing Cross hospitals. Mr Kumar qualified in dentistry in 1990 and in medicine in 1998 from King's College London. He trained across the UK and specialised in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Mr Kumar first undertook a fellowship in Dental Surgery at The Royal London Hospital involving orthognathic, trauma, dentoalveolar and oncological surgery. He then trained in teaching hospitals including UCLH, St George's, and NWL Hospitals and obtained his FRCS in General Surgery. In addition to his vast experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Mr Kumar has essential experience in ear, nose and throat surgery, emergency medicine and general surgery. He routinely performs a number of surgical techniques including oral and maxillofacial surgery, thyroidectomy and cancer care surgery (head and neck, skin cancers).

Mr Kumar is actively involved in clinical research and education. He has co-authored numerous papers in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is also Educational Supervisor in OMFS at the Regional Maxillofacial Unit at NWLH.

For his study into oral cancer at The Regional Hospital, Trivandrum in South India, Mr Kumar was awarded the Preiskal Prize in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
