Mr Laeeq Khan

Mr Laeeq Khan is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon practising at Nuffield Health Brentwood and Spire Hartswood Hospital, Essex. His NHS base is Broomfield Hospital, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, where he practises as a Consultant Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgeon.

He graduated from University College London, is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Leeds for his research into mismatch repair gene deficiency in colorectal cancer. He completed higher surgical training at the John Goligher Colorectal Unit, Leeds, and an advanced fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. He performs laparoscopic and robotic surgery, with robotic procedures currently undertaken within his NHS practice at Broomfield Hospital.

Mr Khan has a substantial practice in hernia surgery, managing the full spectrum of abdominal wall hernias including inguinal, femoral, umbilical, incisional, spigelian and recurrent hernias. He performs laparoscopic hernia repair as his preferred approach, offering patients reduced pain, faster recovery and earlier return to normal activity. He also provides comprehensive assessment and surgical management of gallbladder disease and gallstones, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

He has a specialist interest in benign anorectal conditions, offering the full range of treatments for haemorrhoids including THD, HALO, banding and haemorrhoidectomy, alongside surgical management of anal fistula, anal fissure, pilonidal sinus disease and perianal abscess.

He performs diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and polypectomy.

For patients with colorectal cancer, rectal cancer or inflammatory bowel disease requiring surgery, Mr Khan offers advanced minimally invasive options including laparoscopic resection and robotic total mesorectal excision.
