Current Practice
I am a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the UK.
I have provided private eye care as a Consultant at the Nuffield since 2015 and also held an NHS Consultant post at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton since 2015.
I provide micro-incision cataract surgery with premium intra-ocular lens implants including toric lens implants and multi-focal lens and next generation extended depth of focus lens implants. I also provide a range of eye procedures such as YAG laser capsulotomy, eye injections for macular disease and retinal operations (vitrectomy) for retinal detachment, diabetes, macular hole and epi-retinal membrane.
I also provide complex cataract surgery and manage cataract surgery complications for the region.
I am an educational supervisor recognised by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and at Musgrove provide training for eye surgery.
Training History
I qualified as a doctor from the University of Bristol in 2005 with honours in medicine and surgery. I completed an additional year of research to be awarded an honours degree in anatomical sciences.
In 2007 I started performing eye surgery. I completed seven years of Ophthalmic surgical training in South West England. Following this, I completed an internationally respected retinal specialist fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada. This provided me with extensive experience in the treatment of retinal disorders at the largest retinal unit in North America.

Everthing went very smoothly and I couldn't fault anything
Right from the initial assessment appointment, Mr. Park has been thoroughly professional, patient and informative. I have never had any concerns about his abilities, and the results of my two cataract operations have borne this out - his calculations have resulted in a quite remarkable improvement in. my eyesight in monovision. I had some concerns about my most recent operation, and these were dealt with outside normal hours, in a reassuring manner. My considerable thanks to Mr. Park and all his colleagues at Nuffield Taunton.

Staff all very welcoming and helpful Mr Park has explains every thing well and listens to any concerns or queries to which he responds in an informative and friendly way. I would unreservedly recommend him.
I was recommended to see Mr Park by my husband who had previously had a successful cataract procedure performed by him a year ago. I am really pleased that I saw Mr Park as he is a very knowledgable consultant and has such a pleasant manner that puts you at ease. My operation was a success and I can now dispense with glasses for long and intermediate vision. Everything is so much clearer and crisper and am so glad I followed my husband’s advice to see Mr Park.

Fantastic outcome. I am over the moon as I can now read without the need for glasses and not have to restrict my movements due to anxiety over night driving. I really didn't realise how much the cataract was impacting my life as the effects build gradually over a period of time. I was a little nervous going into surgery but the whole experience was very well and comfortably managed by the entire team. I can honestly say there was no pain. This along with the brilliant results after my first eye operation enabled me to actually look forward to having the 2nd eye done. If you are hesitating about your operation please don't, with my improved eyesight I now feel so much happier, lighter and am looking forward to the years ahead. A very big thank you to the whole team.
