Mr Lucas has treated both my son and daughter and has been excellent throughout. He clearly described the condition and the treatment options with sensitivity in what was a difficult period for the family.

My husband and I are still in disbelief how quickly and smoothly our daughter has been recovering from her scoliosis surgery under the excellent care of Mr. Lucas and his fantastic team. Mr. Lucas has been meticulous, kind and attentive to all our many questions, anxieties and needs and has been taken excellent care of our Stella who trusts him completely. I am still in awe of the science and his skills and the fact that my daughter already walked unaided including up and down stairs 3 days after surgery. Her scar is so neat, I would say it is in fact beautiful. Mr. Lucas' professionalism, kindness and reliability have turned a major, frightening surgery into a smooth, trusting experience for which we are ever so grateful and never expected to go this smooth and without any complications.

My daughter has scoliosis and the curve in her spine was severe. Mr Lucas has straightened her up nicely and we are extremely pleased with the result. The care she received throughout her operation was outstanding. Mr Lucas was very kind and put us all at ease. Although we were apprehensive about the surgery he made us feel confident that everything would be ok and it was! My daughter was walking the next day and within a few days she was also managing to take the stairs. I would happily recommend Mr Lucas to anyone seeking a spinal surgeon.

My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis in August 2023 and Dr Lucas supported her to understand the treatment she required. She underwent spinal fusion surgery in March 2024. Thoughout this process Dr Lucas has been professional and informative and we have felt in safe hands at all times. 4 weeks post surgery she is doing very well and the surgery was a great sucess!

Since we have been seen by Mr Lucas he has been extremely professional, knowledgeable and caring. He has put us, as parents, at ease and guided out daughter for over a year to help her cope with the diagnosis she received.

Jonathan was amazing with our teenage daughter recently diagnosed with scoliosis. His expert assessment and clear advice was hugely reassuring. We would highly recommend. The whole experience exceeded our expectations particularly in terms of the quality of service from both the Portland Hospital but particularly from Jonathan.

Mr Lucas operated on our son in April to correct his Scoliosis. Our son has very complex needs so it was an extremely anxious time for my husband and me. The operation went well however there were some post-op complications which were dealt with swiftly and expertly by Mr Lucas and his team. Our son could not have been in safer, more competent hands. The operation was a complete success and has enhanced our son's life and made him much more comfortable. Mr Lucas is a superb surgeon, the best in his field.

Mr Lucas was very kind, friendly and considerate when talking to and examining my child. He communicated well with me as a parent. Not to mention being an incredibly skilled surgeon. I would highly recommend him.
